After installing the latest beta my taskbar transparency is still off. That means I have to refresh the unlocked taskbar to get the proper image. Everytime I change wallpaper or reboot the transparency is off again. I also see ghost images when the taskbar is foggy.

Using WB 4.90g[b].003 on a PM 760 with Ati X700 PCIExpress 1680x1050 (Laptop 17" LCD) XP MCE SP2

The taskbar trans is not real, it is fake, so changing walls will require a refresh so the tb can catch up so to speak. Give you idea of what I mean put a desktop clock where your startmenu comes up, using stealthos (has a trans background) then bring up startmenu, as long as that is up and you see the time behind it, it will never change, because it is reconstruction of what was behind it, same thing with the taskbar.

Whether it's fake or not, WB should refresh on its own. And it does here. I use WallMaster Pro to change my wallpaper every five minutes, and I have no problem with the transparent taskbar not updating.

I agree, I'm a programmer, so I know adding a hook to refreash on changes should not be that hard to do, think this falls under the category of glitch. Hopefully this gets fixed in final release. Don't know where you file these little glitch reports, maybe they read these forum. Anyone have a link for filling glitch reports, I have a few of own..lol...that's why they call it a beta

This issue was reported a while ago and it seemed to be fixed. Perhaps there are certain circumstances under which it still doesn't refresh properly. It's worked for me since the last couple builds though.

It refreshes correctly as far as we know.

Well, I have been trying to make a screen cap (Corel Capture 12)but somehow the tasbar doesn't capture at all. You guys know a capture tool that will take the WB5 taskbar?
I am using Mikes's Aura skin, but its the same story on all WB5 skins.

Try just pushing the Print Screen button on your keyboard, then paste it into your favorite graphics application.

Ok, that worked, I put it up on my personal page: Link

This isn't a complaint so much as a heads up, so ....

It may refresh on a normal wallpaper change, but when used in conjunction with Stardock Virtual Desktops (and with a different wallpaper on each desktop), the taskbar does not refresh when the vdm is changed or when the wallpaper for a given desktop is changed. I don't know what (if any) signal the SVD program sends when the desktop is changed, but it would be nice if WB caught it and refreshed with a desktop change.

Enjoy

I hate to be a spoiler here but can I turn off the TB transparency?

I looked for a switch the other day but couldn't find anything to disable the transparency
on Oct 20, 2005
To turn it off you have to use a version of the skin that doesn't use it, if provided. As far as I have noticed, the transparency is a special section, so its there if you are using the skin and there is no switch to turn it off. It sounds to me for how its implemented it won't be possible to include a switch, but I could be wrong.

Here's an example of how it does not work.

Which skin is that Stew2000?
on Nov 02, 2005
The latest one: BlueGlass Alpha by Paul-Eric.
But it still has the same problem on all transparent backgrounds.

Seems to work for me. Lemme find that wallpaper you got there.
